A powerful earthquake has hit Turkey and Greece on Friday afternoon. While the death ratio has been reported to be 4 up to now. Footages and pictures of collapsing buildings and seawater surging to the streets signal bigger losses.

The death ratio was announced by the Turkish Health Minister on Twitter. Citizens of the Turkish city of Izmir fled the buildings and gathered around streets following the tremors. in line with Izmir’s mayor, a minimum of 20 buildings are destroyed.
In Greece, minor injuries and building damage are reported up to now on the island of Samos. in line with Samos Hospital officials, the injuries were minor but building damage was reported from across the island.
The Deputy Mayor of Samos, in his media talk, said the collapsed buildings were mainly old ones and there have been no calls about trapped people. Greek authorities have directed citizens to remain faraway from the island’s shores and buildings, and evacuate their houses for subsequent 48 hours.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake struck 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) northeast of the town of Neon Karlovasion on the Greek island of Somos at 1:51 pm Greek time.
After this scenario, the President of turkish Recep Tayyip Erdogan tweeted: “Get well soon Izmir.”
“With all the means of our state, we stand by our citizens suffering from the earthquake. We took action to start out the required add the region with all our relevant institutions and ministers,” Erdogan said.
Major search and rescue efforts are underway in Turkey involving 38 ambulances, 35 National Medical Rescue teams, and two ambulance helicopters, in line with the Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
