Today, the meeting of National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) headed by the minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar held in Islamabad. The meeting was also attended by the provincial education ministers.

The meeting has decided to close all the educational institutions from November 26 (Thursday) owing to the up welling coronavirus cases. The decision will be given final approval by the National Coordination Committee that will be headed by the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said in the media briefing that the students of all the educational institutions would not come to the institutions till the 24th of next month, and during this period, they would take classes by online system, and the winter vacation would begin from December 25 and end on January 10, 2021.

He also said that review meeting would be held in the first week of January 2021 to decide the future policy in this regard.

Furthermore, all the exams in the month of December has also been postponed. Next year schedule for board exams would also been changed.

According to the educational minister, the vocational education and the research work in the higher education institution would remain continue, and the tests for employments would also be held as per the schedule.

As far as the hostels are concerned, there would be one third occupation.

After the news there has been trend of ‘confirm jannati’  for Shafqat Mahmood has become viral on Twitter.

On the other hand, the corona cases has been increasing exponentially, and the Prime Minister Imran Khan has insisted that the nation ought to strictly follow Covid-19 SOPs.
