Animals are often subjected to brutality and such cruel incidents are rarely highlighted and condemned. Another case has recently surfaced, where helpless dogs were treated with extreme cruelty. A group of people entertained themselves and gambled by leaving the poor dogs fighting with each other in a pit.
Savagery to animals is a very sad yet rarely discussed issue in Pakistan. Animal rights are often not taken into consideration. This is the prevalent mentality in our society where ferociousness towards animals is considered normal.
Giving pain to animals, who unlike humans cannot speak for their rights is a barbarous attitude which needs to be seriously addressed.
The Heartless Sport of Dog Fighting has been banned in Pakistan
‘The organizers of this brutal game can be put in jail and incurred upon heavy fines.’ Zara Hafiz for Express Tribune reported.
In spite of being banned these events are unofficially being carried out by influential breeders who regularly schedule these on pre-decided dates and venues. The authorities are not playing their part by taking strong action against these people with barbaric mindsets and preventing such incidents.

Around 900 dogs were poisoned in Karachi while their bodies were ruthlessly dumped in the streets. In our country helpless dogs are killed for without any reason.
Let alone the application of animal rights has the humanity also disappeared? It is absolutely NOT ALLOWED to breed dogs and kill them for selfish entertainment. It’s pathetic!
