In terms of rivalry, the PSL 2020 final between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars was said to be the biggest final. This is primarily because both Karachi and Lahore have a rich background at the domestic level over the years on numerous sporting fronts.

Pakistan’s star batsman, Babar Azam, played an important role in the Karachi King’s victory. To help his side secure their first ever PSL title in five years, Azam scored a commanding half-century. In his 49-ball 63, Azam smashed seven boundaries.

It was however, King’s captain Imad Wasim who reached the winning limit to assist the Kings in 18.4 overs to overhaul a modest 135-run target.

The most significant feature of PSL is that the title-decider has given multiple matchups for each edition. This also means that in each of the five seasons, no two similar sides have fought each other for the trophy.

In the finals of 2016 and 2018, two-time champions Islamabad United beat Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi, respectively. Until Quetta gained sweet vengeance by beating Peshawar in the 2019 finale, Peshawar prevailed over a weakened Quetta to be crowned champions in 2017.
